Trying on shoes online has always been a leap of faith. We built a way to actually see it first.
The Sampler used augmented reality to let people try on Converse classics — right on their own feet, through their phone camera. Point, scale, see it. Snap a photo, share it with friends for a second opinion, and if it's the one, buy it without leaving the app. It sounds simple now. It wasn't, when we built it — this was a category-first, before AR try-on was a thing every retailer bolted onto their app as table stakes.
People used it. Over 10,000 downloads, roughly 240,000 products viewed, and 22,500 sneaker photos taken. Cannes agreed it mattered too — a Silver Lion for an idea that changed how people shop for shoes, not just how they watch an ad about them.
